Levan Davitashvili: "Business Sector should develop a sense of solidarity, our residents should not face food supply/delivery or food prices related problems "

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili held a meeting with the representatives of poultry factories and sectoral associations.

“Due to the current circumstances, all entrepreneurs have to work under particularly difficult conditions. However, under the state of emergency, it is important for the business sector to develop a sense of solidarity, our population should not face food supply /delivery or food prices related problems "

We work 24 hours a day to ensure, that neither entrepreneurs nor suppliers face problems and the interests of the population are maximally protected” Levan Davitashvili said.

 As was mentioned, the enterprises are working uninterrupted, supplies are sufficient and there will be no delay or shortage in the supply of food products.

 The Head of the National Food Agency, Zurab Chekurashvili and the Head of the Department of Food, Agriculture and Rural Development, Tengiz Kalandadze attended the meeting.

It is noteworthy, that, the Interagency Coordination Council is established and led by the Prime Minister of Georgia to prevent the possible spread of the new coronavirus, under which, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture takes responsibility for overseeing the management, logistics and transportation of food supplies.
