Giorgi Khanishvili got familiar with the ongoing agricultural activities in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region

In light of the protection measures taken against the new COVID 19 , agricultural activities are underway in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. Farmers are actively preparing their land for cultivation  and for sowing of cereal crops. Primary activities for spring season are already taken in the orchards and vineyards.

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Giorgi Khanishvili along with the state Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Shalva Kereselidze visited vegetable greenhouses and received information about ongoing works in the village Natakhtari, Mtskheta municipality.

Georgian government officials held a visit to the village Mukhrani as well , where they got acquainted with the seasonal farming activities, including sowing process. Agricultural works are in active phase; Safety measures against the spread of the new coronavirus are maximally protected. 

 The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and its regional departments are in constant communication with the farmers and provide them with the agriculture sector related consultations and inform them the basic protective measures taken against the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
The relevant central and local authorities work in a coordinated manner to ensure, that farm activities are carried out smoothly.
