Spring agricultural activities are underway in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions

In line with the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus, spring farming activities are taken in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo-Svaneti regions in compliance with the safety standards. 

Farmers are actively engaged in land cultivation, intensive farming activities.

The relevant departments of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture will provide farmers with the consultations on agriculture sector related issues and give them recommendations how to meet the requirements and safety standards designed to combat the spread of the new coronavirus in the country.

The state representative of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo-Svaneti region, Archil Japaridze visited the cooperative "Alvazi" in the village Jvarisa, Ambrolauri municipality and got acquainted with the ongoing spring farming activities. At this stage, vineyards pruning, fertilizer supply and tillage activities are carried out in the agricultural land areas.

The above mentioned vineyards were planted under the frame of the state program "Preferential Agro Credit". The program has been implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture since 2013.
