Levan Davitashvili hosted the USAID Mission Director Peter Wiebler

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili together with the Deputies, Khatia Tsilosani and Solomon Pavliashvili hosted  the USAID Mission Director, Peter Wiebler. The Team Leader of Economic Growth Office of USAID / Georgia, Marika Olson  attended the meeting remotely.

Levan Davitashvili expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the US Government and USAID for their support in difficult and most challenging situation and outlined the importance of partnership and collaboration between the two countries.

The Minister expressed his support to American people, US government and noted, that in the current circumstances being unified and consolidated is of utmost importance.

The development of an effective economic recovery plan, which will be based on priorities was underlined by participants, who also set focus on the promotion of circular economy, bringing forward waste management, protected areas, food security and support of small and medium entrepreneurs related issues.

Peter Wiebler noted, that in the current situation, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture takes tremendous responsibility for overseeing and control of food supply in the country. The USAID Mission Director expressed his approval to the Ministry  for handling its duties efficiently and promised to provide a further assistance.
