"It is very unfortunate, that yesterday’s events in Kvemo Kartli region were exploited by some parties to score some cheap political points, this is an irresponsible behavior, violating political ethics, as well as ethical norms. Today, our farmers are facing difficulties and we express our compassion and empathy to them. The economic conditions are deteriorating in the country and Georgian government is ready to take important steps. We help farmers to effectively communicate with buyers. Although, we neither gave any exclusive rights to anyone, nor prioritized some trading network or companies. Today, the company "Jibe" is the one, that helps farmers living in the strict quarantine zones, facing limited mobility in Kvemo Kartli region, whereby, farmers are restricted and can’t leave their places. On the other hand, representatives of the trading network, as well as distributors and buyers can arrive in the quarantine zones to buy and further sell agricultural products. Furthermore, branded supermarkets still represent a small segment of the overall fruit and vegetable market, they are more likely to sell a variety of dry products, meat and dairy products. Hereby, "Jibe" is a company that managed to rearrange and move forward quickly. The company is targeted at the wholesale trade, purchasing and exporting more products than other buyers.I can give a list comprising of dozens of other companies, which buy products from rural residents. There are no exclusive rights established for any of them. I would like to thank the companies, that are purchasing products from rural population in this difficult situation, especially today, when mediation doesn’t work due to restrictions "- said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili.
