"My Deputies and I are in direct contact with the farmers to deal with the inconveniences caused by the malfunction of the hotline in the first days " stated Levan Davitashvili

"We make decisions and act in accordance with the coronavirus pandemic changes in the country – whether the pandemic worsens, or the risks are increasing, etc.

It should be mentioned, that agriculture is highly dependent on the weather, environmental conditions, climate, season. Spring seasonal works are underway, despite the risks of spreading the disease we can’t ban farming activities. Agricultural activities are exceptions and despite limited economic activities, farming activities will be further continued.

We are making decisions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, namely, imposing a restriction of mobility, which in terms of administration puts a lot of pressure on each executive Agency, Ministries. Significant physical resources are required in this direction. Thousands of calls are coming in to the hotline: 144 each day, which is a centralized contact center, same could be said about the hotline of our Ministry.

These are a hundred thousands of people who desperately need help. My Deputies and I are in touch with the people who are connecting with us and we are making best efforts to  resolve inconveniences resulting from the hotline malfunction in the first few days.

At present, this temporary technical malfunction is solved. We just have to be patient for a few days and we should have a sense of solidarity "said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili.
