" Donor Organizations’ support in the development of agriculture sector is immense" stated Levan Davitashvili

" Many interesting rural development programs are being implemented in Georgia through financial support of the  European Union. The USAD implements lots of programs as well, it is a permanent partner of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The US Department of Agriculture has helped us in replenishing Georgian wheat stocks. We will get an additional 27,000 tons of wheat in the coming days. The money received from the sale of wheat will be used for the development of the livestock segment.


Although donor organizations have always been supporting us, however, under the current pandemic disease, we started negotiations with our partners to receive an increased financial aid. Considering donor organizations interest in the agricultural sector, we are expecting further support from their side.
Intensive negotiations are in progress with all of them, that can be seen in the context of the package of assistance that our country is receiving in the current situation to overcome the economic downturn and avoid being affected "- said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili.
