Levan Davitashvili met with the EU special representative
 The Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili met with EU Special Representative for South Caucasus and Crisis Issues in Georgia, Toivo Klaar. At the meeting, Levan Davitashvili has been focused on the activities carried out by the Ministry to fight against the new invasive pest, brown marmorated stink bug, thereby, he gave a detailed account of the projects implemented in the environmental protection and agriculture of Georgia. The Minister spoke about the 2018 Strategic Plan to fight against the Asian stink bug and introduced Toivo Klaar with the main directions of the strategy.
"Today’s meeting is very important in terms of provision of the phytosanitary protection in the country. 2018 Strategic vision is based on the experience gained in 2017 and envisages complex measures to fight against the dangerous pest. State involvement will be active in order to minimize the pest population and the amount of economic damage inflicted by it "- said Levan Davitashvili.
The Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili attended the meeting.
