The Memorandum was signed today, as reported, more than 200,000 farmers will be able to buy the diesel fuel at a discounted price

Under the Agricultural Anti-Crisis Plan, all individuals engaged in the agricultural activities are given opportunities to purchase diesel fuel for agro-technical works considerably cheaper than the average market price.

The memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the company "SOCAR Georgia Petroleum" to implement the farmers support project, under which, the farmers will buy the diesel fuel much cheaper, at a discounted price.

The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Environmental protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili and the Director of the company "SOCAR Georgia Petroleum" Levan Giorgadze. The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Irakli Nadareishvili attended the signing ceremony.

"The company" SOCAR Georgia Petroleum " offered diesel fuel to Georgian farmers at the lowest price. Our farmers will receive the high quality diesel, which is important for agro-technical works, and overall, for agricultural development in the country. We hope, that the program will be successfully implemented and we will be able to provide a further support for farmers in the coming years as well "- said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili.

Individuals and legal entities - agricultural landholders , who already registered their land plots ( no less than 0.25 ha ) at the National Agency of Public Registry will be able to buy the diesel fuel at a discounted price, landholders should uphold the clarification on registration of their agricultural land plots, this program doesn’t include pastures.

Those farmers, who participate in the program, will be provided with the diesel discount cards, through which they will be able to buy 150 liters of diesel fuel per hectare, in case, if they have more than 100 hectares of agricultural land, the received fuel shouldn’t exceed 15,000 liters.




During the current year, those farmers who are participating in the program will be able to purchase the required amount of diesel fuel at a discounted price of 20 tetri per month (as a fixed price offered by tender) from the company's SOCAR Georgia Petroleum wholesale bulk stations, the price will go down by 16 tetri in petroleum stations as well.

The regional offices of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, Houses of Justice  and Public Centers, municipal centers in Adjara region will deliver fuel discount cards to farmers.

More than 200,000 farmers will be able to receive diesel fuel at a discounted price, as a result they will save a total of 40 million GEL.
