The state program to provide farmers with agricultural diesel fuel runs smoothly

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Giorgi Khanishvili accompanied by the Director of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, Ilia Tamarashvili, Deputy Representative of Shida Kartli Region, Nugzar Samkharadze and Director of SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Levan Giorgadze visited Shida kartli region, whereby government officials met farmers to get familiar, how the state program providing farmers with the agricultural diesel fuel at a discounted price is running in the region.

 

" The  anti crisis plan elaborated within the state agricultural program will enable farmers to use benefits without any interruptions.. The participants of the program will receive diesel fuel at a discounted price, which is a significant support ”said Giorgi Khanishvili.


According to the Director of SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Levan Giorgadze,  within the project of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, from May 20, farmers will be able to enjoy state benefits at Sokar gas stations.

 

Within the program, discount cards will be gradually issued for farmers in the houses of justice and public centers, in the regional offices of  information-consulting centers of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency and different municipalities across the country(farmers should take pre-booking of their visit through my.gov.ge ). From May 27, branches of Liberty Bank will issue Agricultural diesel fuel discount cards as well.

 

Those farmers, who participate in the program, will be provided with the diesel discount cards, through which they will be able to buy 150 liters of diesel fuel per hectare, in case, if they have more than 100 hectares of agricultural land, the received fuel shouldn’t exceed 15,000 liters.

 

From May 20, discount cards will be issued for natural persons in the first stage, from June 1 – for land co-owners and legal entities. The cards will be issued for beneficiaries on the basis of the ID card, in case of co-owners, on the basis of the relevant power of attorney.

 

More than 200,000 farmers will receive benefits from the program.
Until July 1, farmers will be able to purchase no more than 50 liters of diesel fuel with a discount card, from July 1 to September 1 - no more than 300 liters, from September 1, discount cards will be redeemed to receive any amount of diesel fuel.
