"Sharing expert knowledge and experience is crucal for proper and efficient development of the agricultural sector’’ stated Levan Davitashvili

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili  together with the representatives of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Agricultural Sciences discussed the ways of effective development of the agricultural sector, amidst the novel Coronavirus pandemic.


" The active cooperation between the Ministry and scientists, who will share their professional knowledge and experience is crucial to overcome the challenges facing the field, especially in times of crisis, when we all see an urgent need for proper and efficient development of the agricultural sector. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture closely cooperates with the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Thereby,  engagement of scientists in the development of the sectoral programs is of utmost importance ”said Levan Davitashvili.

At the meeting, the representatives of scientific circles brought forward current challenges and identified priorities in the field.
The members of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences introduced their vision to the Minister. The importance of  food security, development of  agricultural programs, as well as promotion of all links included in the value chains in the agri-food sector have been outlined by the participants.
