Levan Davitashvili inspected infrastructure and held a meeting with rangers in Tbilisi National Park

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili visited Tbilisi National Park, whereby, he inspected infrastructure and held a meeting with rangers. 

"Tbilisi National Park is recognized by its unique biodiversity and incredible range of fauna and flora covering more than 20 thousand hectares of area. Up to 40 rangers are charged with protecting and preserving areas of the National Park. .In 2018-2019, according to visitor statistics, Tbilisi National Park gained the 4th place. National Park is a favorite place of the population of Tbilisi. Summer season has already started, thereby, proper and right relationship between the humans and nature is very important. We should visit our beautiful nature landmarks, discover our unique country and at the same time, we should take care of our nature - to light a fire only in a place where rangers tell us and not to leave any types of waste in the park. This is our civic responsibility ”Levan Davitashvili said.

The Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture along with the Municipal Development Fund is implementing a park development project.

The best examples are taken from the best national parks in the US and other countries around the world. The visitor center, cottages, hiking trails, entertainment areas for kids and adults' will be arranged under the frame of the project, which will be targeted at the development of ecotourism and recreational areas. Up to 300 km of easy and medium hiking trails with relevant infrastructure are planned to be arranged in the National Park.

The private investment is also planned to be implemented in Tbilisi National Park. Under the the Public-Private Partnership Project (ppp), the investor ‘’Sabaduri Village’’ will invest about 4 million GEL in the development of the Sabaduri forest section in Tbilisi National Park.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Yuri Nozadze and Head of the Agency of Protected Areas, Valerian Mchedlidze accompanied the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili at the Tbilisi National Park.
