"The wine sector faces vulnerabilities in sales, as a result of coronavirus pandemic’’ stated Levan Davitashvili

"We held meetings with the representatives of wine companies, entrepreneurs and viticulturists.
The pandemic-induced economic damage occurred in tourism-related sectors, including wine sector, which faces some difficulties in relation to sales.

Export was declined and sales were dropped in some markets. However, due to the pandemic , the Horeca sector embracing hotels, restaurants, cafes, where products are delivered directly to customers was closed both in the leading countries of Europe and in our neighborhood countries as well. This factor was reflected in wine sales. Our sales have been decreased by about 10-15% compared to the previous year ”said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili made a comment in response to the questions posed by the journalists in the Parliament, where Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia will present the report on the activities implemented by  government in  2019-2020.
