Changes being implemented in the project "Plant the Future"

In accordance with the decision of the Georgian Government, changes are implemented in the project  "Plant the Future", which include components for "co-financing of anti-hail systems and well / drip irrigation system", as well as co-financing of nursery farms.

Under the changes, the component of financing for arranging drip irrigation system in the perennial gardens is added to the state program, in case if perennial gardens are planted in accordance with the program standard. The funding amounts to 50% of the cost, although, not exceeding a total of 1250 GEL per 0.5 ha.

The  new co-financing component was created for nursery gardens under the state program.

The Agency will provide financial support for the establishment of new nursery farms , including modernization / expansion of existing nursery farms. Co-financing will be provided for nurseries, which purchase conventional planting material for arrangement of gardens, which will be comprised of mother plants and / or for arrangement of in vitro plant propagation laboratories .

Under the same component, requirements were identified for qualified nursery farms , thereby, a variety of perennial crops (except vines), which will be propagated in the future , must be registered in the National Catalog, the European Catalog or the catalog of the country where the variety was grown, as confirmed by the Agricultural Scientific Research Center. Moreover,  the notice should indicate, whether the "protected" variety is planned to be bred or propagated.
