At the sitting of the Agrarian Issues Committee, Giorgi Khanishvili brought forward activities implemented by the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency
The activities carried out by the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture was presented by the First Deputy Minister, Giorgi Khanishvili at the sitting of the Agrarian Issues Committee, Parliament of Georgia.
The Chairman of the Committee Otar Danelia chaired the session.
"The Agricultural and Rural Development Agency was established on the basis of the Project Development Agency, Cooperative Development Agency and Extension Services, embracing all these directions. The process of certification of the Agency is already launched in the European institutions, which enables us to have an access to the field support projects in different countries around the world and helps us to further participate in grant competitions "- said Giorgi Khanishvili.
The Deputy Minister set focus on the projects implemented within the agricultural anti-crisis plan and noted, that the Ministry has been able to create an additional conveniences and favorable environment, which includes a number of agricultural areas.
The participants highlighted extension of cooperatives, growth of agricultural exports, development of greenhouses, implementation of complex projects, provision of mechanization services related issues at the session.
"The reality is that we are willing to put an even more financial resources in the agricultural secor. However, it is obvious that lots of activities have already been taken in this direction. We will further make endeavors to make the committee hearings even more intensive, as far as, we see an increased interest, that was revealed at today's sitting as well ” said the Chairman of the Agrarian Issues Committee, Otar Danelia said at the end of the sitting, who wished success to the representatives of the Ministry and noted, that the Committee, within its competence, will support the Ministry in the implementation of all new projects.
