According to data on July 14, Georgia has exported 6,179 tons of peaches and nectarines

The peach and nectarine picking season is entering the active phase. According to data on July 14, Georgia has exported  6,179 tons of peaches and nectarines, overall exporting more than 640 tons, than in the same period of previous year. In 2019, during the same period, the export of peaches and nectarines reached 5,539 tons.

The top export countries of Georgian peach and nectarine are: Russian Federation (61% - 3,796 tons), the Republic of Armenia (30% - 1,857 tons) and the Republic of Azerbaijan (7% - 417 tons). The export is also implemented  in the Republics of Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Moldova and Singapore (2% - 109 tons).
 
The refrigeration plants and storage enterprises are working at full capacity for post harvest handing solutions, including storage and sale of the crop.
The necessary documents are prepared and issued under the single window principle to facilitate the export of peaches. The  representatives of phyto sanitary and customs services are engaged in the above mentioned process.
The working group has been established at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, which is actively engaged in a number of activities, including, information gathering, systematization of post harvesting processes, connecting farmers with peach distributors etc.
