Solomon Pavliashvili got information about the peach and nectarine crop handling and storing process

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili got acquainted with the working process, regarding storing the peach and nectarine crops in the refrigeration plant in the village of Chumlaki, Kakheti region.

" This year we have a record breaking harvest. The harvest of peaches and nectarines is up to 22,000 tons. Approximately 600 to 800 tons of fruit are exported per day. This year, 21 refrigeration plants created within the programs of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, with the state financial support are engaged in the crop storage process. Approximately 2000 people from different regions of Georgia hired for seasonal works are carrying out  peach harvesting-storing activities. The relevant services of the Ministry are actively working to ensure, that farmers will not have any problems in relation to harvesting, storing or selling the products "- said Solomon Pavliashvili.

As noted the Mayor of Gurjaani municipality, Archil Khandamashvili, this year, the number of peach and nectarine crops is much higher, than it was in the previous year. Farmers are satisfied with the market price.Â
