The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and Director of the National Statistics Office Gogita Todradze signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
Under the frame of the Memorandum, the Ministry will ensure the Geostat with the primary information for the production of official statistics, on the basis of which, the Geostat will provide the processed information to the Ministry.

"The reliable and accurate statistics is increasingly important for the development of sound environmental and agricultural policies. Furthermore, close cooperation with the Geostat, which is the only producer of official statistics in the country is crucial. The Ministry, within its competence will assist the Geostat in obtaining and receiving information from the regions ” Levan Davitashvili said.
As noted by the Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, Gogita Todradze, as part of the agreement, the cooperation between the agencies is entering a new and important stage.

"I believe, that meetings with the participation of members of the thematic working groups will facilitate the production of official statistics and help to provide decision-makers with the necessary and objective statistical information" - said Gogita Todradze.

The First Deputy Minister Giorgi Khanishvili, as well as representatives of relevant departments attended the meeting.
