According to the current data, up to 12,000 tons of peaches and apples were exported from Georgia, which is 45% more compared to the same period in the previous year.

As noted by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, this year the peach crop is especially plentiful in Georgia. The prices are high, 2 GEL and even more, which is a good income for a farmer, if we take into account a large amount of crop harvested per hectare of land area.

"This year, we expect to harvest about 30,000-35,000 tons of peaches, part of which will be exported. Currently, up to 12,000 tons of peaches and nectarines are exported from Georgia.

Georgia exported 7,500 tonnes of peaches in the same period last year, accordingly, the export rate has been increased significantly, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The amount of a household income has also increased substantially, which is crucial for the farmer and for the economy of our country.

We have been providing a co-financing of farms over the past few years. Currently we have twenty-two refrigerated warehouses that are operating at full capacity. Most of them were created during the last year ” Levan Davitashvili said.
