"Implementation of new projects play an important role in the economic development of the country, although it is necessary to minimize the negative impact on the environment" stated Levan Davitashvili

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili along with the relevant services of the Ministry held a meeting with the representatives of the company "RMG’’.
 
At the meeting, the General Director of the company, Tornike Lipartia provided the Minister and representatives of the Ministry with the detailed information on the project ‘’Bnelikhevi’’ , he brought forward studies conducted for the implementation of the project, schemes for ore mining, extraction and processing, workplace safety issues, mandatory measures for air, soil and water protection etc.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili noted, that in recent years, the large companies have taken responsibility for the implementation of environmental measures as well as obligations imposed under the law, thus recognizing social responsibility and the need to engage civil society in the above mentioned process.
 
The implementation of new projects play an important role in the economic development of the country, although it is necessary to minimize the negative impact on the environment. 

It was noted, that detailed account of environmental measures should be provided to conduct activities, that will meet the requirements set by the law, before launching the new projects.

As mentioned at the meeting, the company is implementing a number of environmental measures, which were imposed by the Ministry, although certain obligations should be fulfilled by the company by the end of this year.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Nino Tandilashvili and Head of the Environmental Supervision Department Irakli Mukniashvili attended the meeting.
