‘’ Modern almond garden planted in the village Lemshveniera is a clear example of tangible results achieved under the program " Plant the Future " stated Levan Davitashvili

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili visited the almond orchard planted in Gardabani Municipality under the frame of the state project "Plant the Future" and took part in the harvesting process.

The super-intensive almond orchard (consisted of six varieties of almonds) was planted through state support on 6 hectares in the village Lemshveniera by Jewish company ‘’Bar Lev Group’’ in 2018. It should be noted, that almond bears it’s first fruit after second year from planting.

Although, in a high tech garden, the Spanish almond variety grafted on a plum rootstock appeared to be an exception, which bore an abundant fruit in the second year after planting.

Modern technologies introduced in a super-intensive almond garden was planted by  the company "Bar Lev Group". The  almond garden is a clear example of the tangible results achieved under the state program" Plant the Future " .

Under the frame of the program "Plant the Future", modern gardens valued at more than $ 100 million have been planted on approximately 10,000 hectares of area, which is an additional value that we have created in the agricultural field.

Moreover, above mentioned gardens will allow us to produce more export products each year, which means, that  our country will be able to earn tens of millions of dollars. This is the result of our appropriate steps taken in this direction "Levan Davitashvili said.

The Founder of ‘’Bar Lev Group’’ and investor, Aharon Gagulashvili estimated state participation in the planting of almond orchard as a significant support and encouragement for him.

"Georgia has all conditions for the development of almond culture. I believe, that Georgia will become a major exporter of this culture on the world market "- said Aharon Gagulashvili.
