The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture will control the provision of uninterrupted supply of food products in Mestia Municipality

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili  visited Mestia Municipality due to the detection of novel Covid-19 cases.

As noted by the Deputy Minister, the uninterrupted supply of food products is ensured by distribution companies, therefore, all technical issues have been discussed and agreed with them.

"The population will not face the shortage of food and items of primary consumption. Moreover, agricultural products intended for export will be taken from the municipality. We will do our best to meet the needs of the population. We had gained a valuable experience in this direction in Marneuli, Bolnisi and Karajalari municipalities ”said Solomon Pavliashvili.

As mentioned at the meeting of the Coordination Council, under the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture will control the provision of uninterrupted food supply in Mestia Municipality.

At present, about 500 samples for Covid-19 have been taken in Mestia municipality. The Covid-19 hot spot is the village of Lenjeria.
