Under the International Green Week Exhibition, the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Nodar Kereselidze held meetings

 Under the frame of the Berlin Green Week 2018 (International Food, Agriculture and Horticulture exhibition), the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Nodar Kereselidze held official meetings with the delegations of Agriculture sector from various countries.
At the meeting with the Parliamentary State secretary at the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection , Peter Bleser Nodar Kereselidze highlighted planned and implemented agricultural and environmental projects.
Peter Bleser expressed his interest to make investments in the field of  environment in Georgia and readiness to implement joint projects. It is noteworthy, that in Summer 2017, Peter Bleser held meetings with the representatives of the state and private sector in Georgia.
The invasion of an Asian stink bug in Georgia, which damaged a big part of Georgian agricultural crops and reduced hazelnut export in 2017. The sides underlined the importance of implementing joint measures and agreed on the need to activate cooperation in the phytosanitary field.
"Whenever a country faces similar challenges, joint efforts to timely identify the problem as well as joint measures should be taken to resolve the problem. German side is ready to cooperate with Georgian partners in the phytosanitary area to reduce and avoid the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens and diseases " said Peter Bleser.
Nodar Kereselidze expressed his gratitude for a research conducted by German company, which included some  recommendations to Georgian side in the field of agriculture, also how to improve investment environment of Georgia.
Within the frame of the visit, Nodar Kereselidze held meetings with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia Jānis Dūklavs,  Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, Igor BRYLO and Bundestag, South Caucasus Parliamentary Group Leader.
