Regulation on ‘’Approval of the Rules on Public Hearing’’ to discuss
Public discussion of the Regulation on Approval of the Rules on Public Hearing was held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The Deputy Minister, Nino Tandilashvili highlighted the importance of public participation in environmental impact assessment, strategic environmental assessment and transboundary environmental assessment process.
The regulation is based on the principles of the Environmental Assessment Code and aims to introduce efficient mechanisms of public participation in the decision making process, which ensures high level of public involvement at all stages of decision making.
At the meeting, the sides discussed issues of public discussion, public participation and drew their attention to the accessibility of information.
The representatives of environmental NGOs and consulting companies attended the meeting.
