Minister Davitashvili: “We are launching an annual celebration “Tkhiloba 2020” in Samegrelo region, which will embrace harvest of our efforts and knowledge sharing”
“As a brief overview – let me recall our visit to Ordu (Turkey) last year with our Azerbaijani and Turkish colleagues, where we made a decision to host hazelnut festival in Georgia. As a well-known fact, the three main producers in the hazelnut industry are Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
We have joined celebrations of hazelnut harvest in various regions of Georgia. The Prime Minister has reiterated that the Samegrelo region is not a sole producer of hazelnut, as Imereti, Guria, Kakheti and other regions embrace hazelnut as one of the esteemed crops. We have also acknowledged how vital hazelnut crops are for Samegrelo region, thus, it has been a symbolic action to commence celebrations of all the regional harvests in Zugdidi” - Mr Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia stated.
