Minister Davitashvili: “I would extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister, whose support amid the hardships and processes has resulted into today’s celebration”

“I would like to extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister, whose support during the hardships and processes has resulted into today’s celebration. We embrace start of a highly important, large-scale and successful journey.

Acknowledging gratitude toward solid cooperation with our partners is of utmost importance. The United States of America has been our devout supporter from the very first day when stinky bug appeared in Georgia, which brought a disastrous effect on agriculture. The first response assistance to the agriculture had been made by our American friends; as a U.S. Government – the USAID demonstrated its support.

Frankly speaking, our American friends did not just provide us with financial aid, but generously shared expertise and technical assistance, which empowered us to enhance plant protection means and services. Such an intensive assistance has resulted into Georgia being a center, which attracts worldwide entomologists. Assistance of the American has been at the forefront, nevertheless, I would like to thank other friends of Georgia, which joined their forces with us, thus I would like to thank each of these countries.

I shall extend my gratitude to the regional authorities, farmers and individuals, who have complemented efforts for fighting stinky bugs and who have been working in hazelnut gardens, took an intensive care and gain harvest “- Mr Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia stated.
