Minister Davitashvili reiterates undisrupted accommodation of apples for the farmers

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr Levan Davitashvili visited the fruit processing enterprise "Geo Concentrate" and familiarized himself with the industrial apple delivery process.

“The state-run program allows processing enterprises to work with full load. It has been two days since harvesting started, and 7 companies have already joined the program. “I firmly believe that as a result of state support, farmers will be able to deliver harvest without any queues, and the fruit will not be left uncollected. It should be noted that the goods processed from industrial apples are exported to EU countries, which is very important for our economy"- Minister Davitashvili stated.

According to the founder of „Geo Concentrate“ Mr Ivane Goliadze, his company has engaged in the program from the first day.  The company purchases industrial apples from local farmers, and the processed goods are exported to the EU countries.

„Geo Concentrate" LTD is registered at the coordination center, which is operated to promote industrial apple sales. The company has been working since 2007 and employs 50 local dwellers. The total investment is million GEL.

Within the scope of the program, in the case of purchase of industrial apples, the fruit processing companies, which by December 1, 2020, purchase 1 kg of these apples from individuals employed in the fruit-growing sector for not less than 0.22 GEL, will receive the state subsidy of 0,10 GEL per 1 kg of industrial apple.
