Minister Davitashvili comments on political speculations over public perceptions

“Speculations of a handful of activists from one specific political party does not reiterate public opinion. With yet another demonstration in Kakheti, I appeal to journalists with a humble favor to personally approach farmers and inquire at what cost does farmers’ harvest constitute. My personal desire is to increase sales of any production, in addition to grapes. Measurement of our success comes in parallel to an increased income of farmers. The Covid-19 pandemic turmoil of economic torments has resulted into significant hardships of many European countries’ viticulture. Amidst the global challenges, Georgia has enacted effective remedies, which has compensated production costs as well as provided farmers with profit.

The Funds have been aggregated from the State budget, which is comprised with taxpayers’ money of Tbilisians like yourself or your family. As a gesture of solidarity, you have empowered fellow citizens of Kakheti during hardships, not to leave grapes unpicked. Undisrupted grape-picking harmonizes with daily sales generating 10, 000 tonnes. Being firm in an organized and effective remedies, 2020 vintage will be a successful one – similarly to each and every harvest during our term in the Government” – Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr Levan Davitashvili Stated.
