The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava and the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Giorgi Khanishvili attended Ltd "Efco“ blueberry investment project presentation

In his welcome speech, the First Deputy Minister Giorgi Khanishvili talked in detail about the projects that are supporting development of agriculture in the country and focused on the importance of the "Plant the Future" Project subcomponent of financing berry crops. 

 

"Numbers are a good measure of efficiency. Today, blueberry is one of the leading product in terms of export potential. As you know, we are constantly working export markets diversification.  664 tons of blueberries were exported In 2019, which is an impressive number. Only for growing blueberry, state has invested 14 million GEL, which is a multi-million dollar income for Georgian farmers“,- said Giorgi khanishvili.

 

It is important that Ltd „Efco“was expanded in 2016 as a result of Partnership Fund investment.  32 hectare blueberry plantation located in a small town Laituri, Guria region.

 

The Georgian Multiprofile Investment Company "Forsight Investment Group" manages "Efco" Ltd, which aims to create one of the largest blueberry producer agro company in the region and Plans to invest $ 9 million over the next five years.

 

Davit Saganelidze, Executive Director of the Partnership Fund, Gia Morchiladze, Executive Director of Foresight Investment Group, representatives of relevant organizations and stakeholders were attended the event.
