Ministers Davitashvili and Turnava celebrate success of a new poultry farm
Ms Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Mr Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Envrionmental Protection and Agriculture celebrated success of a new poultry faming at a launching event of the new complex “Sartichala 3”, which has resulted from co-funding of the company “Chirina” and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Fundaments to the complex were paved in 2019 and commenced in 2020; the “Chirina” company is equipped with modern technologies and will ensure production of an additional 600 tones of meat.
“Significant increase of Georgia’s self-sufficiency and enhancement of poultry farming showcases a successful practice of modern-day agricultural development, which is embraced within the respective complex. Production of poultry meat has increased in 40 % for the last four years. Apart from enhancing self-sufficiency of poultry meat of Georgia, we aim for an export. It is of utmost importance and joy to witness such a large-scale investment undertaken during the pandemic” – Minister Davitashvili stated.
Launching event enjoyed presence of Mr Shota Rekhviashvili, State Representative of Kvemo Kartli, Mr Giorgi Akhalkatsi, Associated Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Mr Ramaz Budaghashvili, Mayor of the Gardabani Municipality.
