During the period of August 1 – November 29, 2020 Georgia has exported 5, 562 tonnes of apples, worth of 2,4 million USD. Export scale of 2020 exceeds 2019 ratio in 13 times. Moreover, worth of export has increased in 2, 1 million USD. Apple export has been directed to the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Georgia-exported hazelnut has numbered to 11, 311 tonnes during the period of August 1 – November 23, 2020, worth of 59, 3 million USD. The export of the same period of 2019 has increased in 3, 060 tonnes (37 %), amounting an increase of 18, 7 million USD (46 %). Moreover, an export price on hazelnut has increased in 7 %.

The vast majority of Georgian hazelnut export has reached European Union market, mainly Germany (3, 287  tonnes), Italy (2, 320 tonnes), Czech Republic (594 tonnes), Spain (352), Poland (320 tonnes), Lithuania (311 tonnes), Bulgaria (300 tonnes), France (218 tonnes), Greece (97 tonnes), Estonia (88 tonnes), Latvia (84 tonnes), Slovakia (64 tonnes), Luxembourg (60 tonnes), Austria (22 tonnes) and Croatia (10 tonnes). 

Nevertheless, Georgian hazelnut has been exported to countries such as Armenia (572 tonnes),  the Russian Federation (540 tonnes), Turkey (530 tonnes), Belarus (284 tonnes), Ukraine (198 tonnes), Brazil (186 tonnes), Algeria (185 tonnes), Canada (146 tonnes), Saudi Arabia (95 tonnes),  Mexico (67 tonnes),  Syria (50 tonnes), Switzerland (47 tonnes), Uzbekistan (43 tonnes), Jordan (38 tonnes), Iraq (24 tonnes), Great Britain (22 tonnes), United States (19 tonnes) and etc.

Spread of the sting bug and fungal diseases had gradually dropped hazelnut production and export starting in 2016, which reached minimal scale of 17 tonnes in 2018. Nevertheless, successful harvest of hazelnuts in 2020 derives as a tangible outcome from the large-scale efforts and the State-deployed strategy, complemented by contributions from relevant agencies and farmers.
