Minster Davitashvili: “Georgia maintains an increased export trends at strategic markets”

At an annual event at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA), Minister Levan Davitashvili embraced increased export trends of Georgian wine at strategic markets. “The pandemic has affected every country. Georgia has managed to adapt to the developments and ensure attaining number of sales and market positions, aspiring to reclaim former positions and improve general environment. Wine sector has suffered decrease in income, which shall come as no surprise; obstacles have appeared at a global scale and at every wine-maker country, Georgia among them” – Minister Davitashvili stated.

Minister Davitashvili spoke about efforts for stimulating Georgian wine exports at international strategic markets, which have entailed marketing actions via distant possibilities, online degustation and online platforms, online retail sale ads have been accelerated at popular web-pages and applications, TV companies and ration outlets, various social media pages have been created for promoting Georgian wine.

The “Small wineries support program” has assisted dozens of small wineries to export and transport around 1500 bottled wines to various countries amidst the pandemic.
