Minister Davitashvili: “Agrarian activities of Georgia have not been disrupted amidst the pandemic turmoil, but rather boosted in export”

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has embarked on a successful endeavor of market diversification and export stimulus. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry has fostered an undisrupted export of Georgian agrarian production, namely:


Throughout the period of August 1 – December 13, Georgia has exported:


 
·         25, 287 tonnes of peach and nectarines (export launched on May 1), worth of 21, 3 million USD;

·         6, 739 tonnes of apples, worth of 2, 9 million USD;

·         12, 664 tonnes of hazelnuts, worth of 65, 7 million USD;

·         10, 834 tonnes of persimmons (launched on September 1), worth of 5, 7 million USD;

·         16, 062 tonnes of tangerines (launched on September 1), worth of 7, 7 million USD;

·         674 tonnes of blueberry (launched on June 1), worth of 3, 8 million USD.
