Levan Davitashvili: “Bylaws on land reform have been drafted and will be adopted in the nearest future”

Mr Levan Davitashvili, a candidate for the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia elaborated on the process of drafting/adopting bylaws on land reform, upon responding to the question of MP Nino Tsilosani, chairperson of the Parliamentary Agrarian Issues Committee.

“2020 has resulted into establishment of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management, which has been tasked to adopt 3 bylaws; they have been drafted upon liaison with private sector, however, the pandemic has affected the process due to difficulties of ensuring engagement of stakeholders and holding public discussions. These bylaws are directly connected with foreign investors, thus, harmonizing their input with Georgia’s interests is vital. Georgia’s interests are crucial and the bylaws have been aspired with the latter principles. The bylaws have been already drafted and I am firm about their adoption in the nearest future” – Mr Davitashvili stated.
