Minister Levan Davitashvili: “One of the most credible French companies “Terraclima” has studied impact on the Tvishi micro-zone”

“A very important and comprehensive assessment has been carried out on
microclimate, which is among the topics of high interest within the society. This is a
gorge with a special micro-zone for viticulture that is also a home to protected
designation of origin. There have been talks, whether or not, there would be an
impact on the Tvishi micro-zone. One of the most credible French companies
“Terraclima” has studied the latter matter. Also, I would like to bring your attention to
the fact that the “Terraclima” provides the “LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton” with
climate assessment and study research; the “LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton” is
one of the biggest producers of champagne. The latter company undertakes study
on microclimate for the most expensive wines produced globally. Thus, I believe that
credibility and trust stand high” - Mr Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environmental
Protection and Agriculture of Georgia stated.

“Within the environmental impact assessment and enclosed assessment report on
microclimate impact developed by the “Terraclima”, which entails matters regarding
potential correlation between local temperature and humidity; the respective report
has been designed for adopting an environmental decision. The report also covers
change of bioclimate parameters at vineyards surrounding the reservoir. The
respective report determines that international research undertaken on climate
change around large reservoirs – horizontal impact at temperature and humidity is
estimated in 100 meters from reservoir shores. Therefore, microclimate effect
(temperature, wind, humidity) will be localized on reservoir’s surface and
surroundings itself (100 m distance from future reservoir). Meanwhile, meter stations
networks will be installed, along with temperature/humidity sensors for a constant
monitoring with regard to climate of territories under sphere of influence.
