Deputy Minister Giorgi Khanishvili attend a unified session of the Parliamentary Committees on Agrarian Issues and European Integration

The first Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA), Mr Giorgi Khanishvili attended a unified session of the Parliamentary Committees on Agrarian Issues and European Integration. Throughout the sessions, representatives of the MEPA’s agencies presented implementation report for an action plan 2020 on European Union – Georgia Association Agreement (AA), outcomes of the Laboratory of the MEPA, as well as challenges. Attendees stressed out that implementation of obligations set forth by the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) agreement on harmonizing Georgia’s legislation on food safety, veterinary and plant protection with the European Union is fulfilled in accordance with the plan. 


“The Ministry has embraced tangible results in food safety, veterinary, plant protection and capacity building of laboratory. Meanwhile, the Ministry strives for elaborating on the challenges. Cultivating modern standards, technologies and complementing state programs are deployed by the Ministry on product quality, competitiveness and boosting up export potential” – Deputy Minister Khanishvili stated.
