Deputy Minister Solomon Pavliashvili elected as a member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences

Mr Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA) was elected as an academician to the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. Deputy Minister Pavliashvili has been awarded with an academician status of agricultural sciences, for his devout contributions toward sustainable management of agroecosystems. 


Deputy Minister Pavliashvili has made significant contributions toward topics, such as environmental protection, effective usage of waste, establishment of circular models, organic agriculture, transportation systems of Georgia, agro-transportation production, effective and undisrupted transportation of agricultural production, scientific approach toward boosting effectiveness of Georgia’s agro-transit function, research and cultivation of circular models. 


Mr Pavliashvili has been involved into scientific processes since 1982 and serves as a Vice-president of the Institute of Economics of Georgian Academy of Sciences. He holds PhD degree in economics and is an academician at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. As a young Dr. he was awarded with the honorary scientific stipend from the President; in 2019, Mr Pavliashvili was awarded with the prize named after the Academician Paata Gugushvili. 


Deputy Minister Pavliashvili is an author of 12 monographs and over 100 scientific works in macroeconomics, meso and microeconomics, agrarian sciences, international economic relations, ecology, sustainability of agroecosystems, Georgian industry, agriculture and environmental protection. 


Apart from his contributions to the public service in Georgia, Mr Pavliashvili is actively engaged into scientific-pedagogical affairs.Â
