Minister Davitashvili: “In 2021, Georgia will proceed with promoting Georgian wine”

“In 2020, amid the pandemic, Georgia has organized numerous online degustation and presentations, which have safeguarded Georgia in being showcased to international consumers. Excessive harvest makes it especially vital to maintain an increasing export trend. 

Last year, Georgia embraced with an excessive grape harvest, however, there were certain challenges for the wine industry, at large. We didn’t have drawbacks in terms of wine export, however, initially, we had aspirations to boost export at large. Our aspirations have aspired cultivation of new vineyards in the country.

In 2020, Georgia has exported around 100 million bottles of wine. Moreover, farmers have earned over 300 million GEL throughout grape harvest” – Minister Levan Davitashvili stated at the Parliamentary hearing.
