Minister Davitashvili: “Georgia has an unprecedentedly high storage of crop yield, amounting to 115 000 tonnes”

“In compliance with the FAO recommendations, our average storage of crop yield is 90, 000 tonnes, which is enough for two months. At this stage, our storage is sufficient for three months, which also empowers us to safeguard country from instabilities.

Sustaining high storage empowered us to safeguard summer and autumn, thus ensuring to maintain bread prices without increasing cost of yield. Nevertheless, we deployed subsidies, which had been an economic and effective action for socially vulnerable citizens” – Minister Davitashvili stated.

Minister stated that there is a large production of wheat products such as confectionary, therefore, it would not be fair to deploy budgetary funds for sustaining prices” – Minister Levan Davitashvili stated at the Parliamentary hearing.
