The first Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr Giorgi Khanishvili met with representatives of banking sector and briefed on the Imereti Agro Zone’s (IAZ) Greenhouse Cluster Development project – “It is of utmost importance for us to ensure engagement of local business sector within the project. The Imereti Agro Zone will produce production in compliance with modern standards. The Agro Zone will foster large-scale employment and enhancement of trade relations”. 

Mr Archil Bukia, Director of the Imereti Agro Zone’s (IAZ) stated that the Government of Georgia has allocated 220 hectares of land for greenhouse cluster development at Tskaltubo and Baghdati municipalities. The cooperation prospects anticipate high, medium and low technological greenhouses, center for logistics and sales, processing enterprises and creation/development of various assisting businesses. 

The project has been initiated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA) and expression of interest (EOI) within the Imereti Agro Zone’s (IAZ) Greenhouse Cluster Development efforts will be accepted by April 30, 2021 (please, visit an electronic platform: www.iaz.ge).
