Minister Davitashvili: “We are embracing a momentum of hazelnut industry becoming a runner-up”

“Our projections on hazelnut export have been harvested. We had stated that hazelnut production in Georgia would amount into 100 million USD within a marketing year. We are embracing a momentum of hazelnut industry becoming a runner-up. Our efforts are neatly tied with overcoming numerous challenges, such as brown armored bug or other diseases, as well as access to knowledge that is implemented through joining forces with the Association. 2020 season had been a highly promising one for farmers, which ensured decent renumeration for a high-quality production. We are expecting positive developments in 2021. We shall be one of the primary producers and exporter country in the world” – Minister Levan Davitashvili stated.

Today, the Geostat published primary data on 2020, which embraces positive trends in agriculture.
