Deputy Minister Pavliashvili: “We shall shape a model, which empowers us to diminish effect on natural resources”

Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr Solomon Pavliashvili attended the steering committee meeting organized by the Orchis Union of Nature Researchers of Georgia, which was organized as part of the “Keep Georgia Tidy” and in frames of the “Circular Assessment of Georgia’s Economy”. Deputy Minister Pavliashvili stated that the project is a new challenge and it will complement implementation of circular model in Georgia. 


“It is crucial to shape a model, which will empower us to diminish effect on natural resources and elaborate technologies that is waste-less. Meanwhile, we will stimulate circular economic model. Joint efforts will harvest success for the project” – Deputy Minister Pavliashvili stated. 


The Swedish-Government financed “Circular Assessment of Georgia’s Economy” project aims at joining forces with the Government of Georgia to determine national target indicators of the circular economy’s national policy, as well as determining circular objectives. The efforts also aim at determining priority areas for circular economic investments and elaboration of recommendations for Georgia’s circular economy strategies. All of these efforts will accelerate transition process to circular economy in Georgia. 


The steering committee has been approved by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and serves as a task force of the Government of Georgia, aiming at successful fulfillment of the project.
