Second stage of the competition of ideas “GreenOvation” to commence on May 25

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA) and the German Agency for International Cooperation or (GIZ) continue organizing contest of ideas “GreenOvation” (Green Innovation Challenge) as a joint initiative. The contest aspires and aims to identify core challenges in the forestry sector and seek for innovative and eco-friendly solutions. 

On May 25, the second stage of the contest will commence, which will entail presentation of solutions identified within the challenges of the first stage. The ideas submitted during the first round has covered alarming matters of the South Caucasus countries (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan); moreover, the submissions have entailed organizations or citizens’ enthusiasm to actively engage into identifying innovative, green and eco-friendly views and methods for seeking changes.

The “GreenOvation” contest has identified nine ideas on the first stage, which have been covered on the following web-page:

Before May 25, any person may participate in the second stage and present 9 selected green and innovative change-making solutions. 

In frames of the contest, 9 winners will be announced from each of the three countries (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan), which will be provided with a grant amounting to 10, 000 Euros with an entailing project budget. 

The contest of ideas “GreenOvation” is conducted in frames of the program - “Management of natural resources and safeguarding of ecosystem services for sustainable rural development in the South Caucasus” (ECOserve) in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
