Manufacturer extended responsibility (EPR) registration in an electronic register has been extended to one year

The registration requirement for the oil, tires, electronic devices, batteries manufacturers to the register their manufacturer extended responsibility into the electronic register has been expended from June 1, 2021 to July 1, 2022. Therefore, the manufacturers will have sufficient time to comply with the regulations. 

Deputy Ministers of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Ms Nino Tandilashvili and Mr Solomon Pavliashvili hosted a meeting with the representatives of business associations on extending the period for complying with the requirements of the respective technical regulations. As Deputy Minister Pavliashvili noted, the government has undertaken challenges of the business sector and has made a decision to expand the registration timeline. 

It shall be noted that, according to the technical regulations, oil, tires, electronic devices, batteries manufacturers are obliged to undertake online registration to an electronic sector prior to placing the product to the market.Â
