Minister Davitashvili observes Scientific – Research Center of Agriculture in Anaseuli

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr Levan Davitashvili observed the Scientific – Research Center of Agriculture in Anaseuli. The Minister paid a visit to the recently established third stage laboratory of integrated protection means for plants, which will deploy its efforts toward plant diseases and detection of pests. The lab will ensure study of an armored stink bug and search of bioagents. The farmers will be empowered to receive information about pests-diseases and actions for fighting these. 

The Anaseuli base is situated at the Adam Beridze Soil and Food Diagnostic Center, with tea and subtropical plants testing-exhibition locations, greenhouses and orangeries, which are examining rural-agricultural cultures, commence evaluation of production indicators and selection-dissemination of adapted types for a specific region and that are resistant to pests-diseases. The base has already produced a new selected type of tea “Kolkhida”, which will be provided (15, 000 seedlings) to the farmers for cultivating plantations.
