Preparatory works for harvesting cereal crops in the Kakheti region are underway

Deputy Minister of Environmental protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA), Mr Giorgi Khanishvili observed preparatory works for wheat and hordeum harvest in the Kakheti region, together with State Trustee of the Kakheti region, Mr Irakli Shioshvili, MP Davit Songhulashvili and Mr Nugzar Papiashvili, Chairperson of the Dedoplistskaro Sakrebulo. 

A meeting with village trustees and farmers at the Dedoplistskaro municipality took place, after observing preparatory efforts of collecting harvest at the service centers and by the Agricultural Logistics and Services Company in the Kakheti region.

“Cereal and hordeum harvest will be launched from the Dedoplistskaro municipality, thus, the Agricultural Logistics and Services Company will deploy around 90 units of harvester. Our farmers are awaiting a fruitful harvest, which will be held in an organized manner upon joining forces with the local self-government. I would like to encourage farmers to timely submit request for collection machinery for harvest, thus, sign contracts and efficiently proceed” – Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr Giorgi Khanishvili stated. 
State Trustee Shioshvili stressed out intensified efforts deployed with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has ensured an undisrupted harvest effort of cereal crops. 

“It is crucial that farmers are empowered to collect and accommodate harvest in an organized manner” – Majoritarian MP, Mr David Songhulashvili stated at the meeting hosted in the Dedoplistskaro municipality. 

Cereal and hordeum harvest will be launched from the Dedoplistskaro municipality, thus, the Agricultural Logistics and Services Company will deploy around 90 units of harvester along with the private sector-complemented machinery. A special coordination unit will be set up, which will result into an organized conduct of harvest.
