Minister Davitashvili: “we will support every initiative of producing new Georgian products”

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr Levan Davitashvili together with Mr Davit Nozadze, State Trustee at the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region visited the LTD “Benzhi” enterprise, located in Natakhtari. 

“Natakhtari is transforming into a vital cluster of food industry and has numerous well-known producers on board. Among these are LTD “Benzhi” with a wide variety of production. The company has been established through financial assistance and support from the State; at this stage, the company ensures realization of Georgian fruit-derived alcoholic beverages at local markets, as well as expands toward export areas. Apart from production areas, the company also fosters chocolate industry as an exciting trend of the recent years. I would like to highlight that we will support every initiative of producing new Georgian products” – Minister Davitashvili stated. 

The LTD “Benzhi” produces alcoholic beverages from Georgian fruits since 2016. The company owns a modern infrastructure for fruit processing, which also empowers the company to produce fruit jams and juices. As an effort to ensure development, the boulangerie network of “August” has been established. The “August Fruit Factory” is a beneficiary of a preferential agro-credit; a total amount of agro-leasing amount exceeds 250, 000 GEL. In total, the factory has resulted from the 3-million-GEL investment.

A founder of the factory, Ms Kristine Morchiladze stated that 57 persons are employed at the factory, which ensures realization of production at local market, network markets, as well as export to Czechia; in the nearest future, export will be directed to Israel.
