Minister Davitashvili: “Georgia will be a fully mechanized and equipped with rural-agricultural equipment”

“Rural and agricultural development 2030” – is a long-term vision of the Ministry of Enrvironmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, which was presented by Minister Levan Davitashvili, who briefed on the details of mechanization enhancement vision.

“Based on specific spaces and strengths, we have already analyzed what kind of agricultural-rural mechanization and assisting implements are required. In the course of the meeting at regions, we have actively heard about the requests to support rural-agricultural mechanization, which implies fully equipping Georgia with rural-agricultural machinery” – Minister Davitashvili stated. 

The State will proceed with the development of rural-agricultural machinery co-funding and target programs, which entails co-funding of every type of rural-agricultural equipment; in frames of the 10-year plan, 1,7 billion GEL will be invested, including 700 million GEL of contribution from the State. 

At this stage, in frames of the new grant programs of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, around 900 beneficiaries have procured new rural-environmental equipment and implements, which have amounted to a co-funding amount of more than 28 million GEL. 

Throughout the preferential agro-credit, more than two thousand loans amounting to more than 124 million GEL have been awarded for producring rural-agricultural equipment. The Agency’s co-funding has exceeded 12 million GEL.
