The National Academy of Sciences of Georgia hosts a seminar on circular economy

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr Solomon Pavliashvili attended a seminar on circular economy at the National Academy of Sciences. Deputy Minister Pavliashvili discussed approaches and incumbent challenges with regard to circular economy in Georgia; he also stressed out that deployment of the circular economy principles enable capacities for decreasing industrial waste, production of hazardous chemicals, as well as diminishing their affect and complement actions toward softening the climate change. 

“Circular economy utilizes natural resources at a greater effectiveness and sustains materials and production value through circulation, which also decreases negative impact of economic actions on human health. Nowadays, even the most advanced countries are in an early stage of transferring to circular economy, Georgia among them. Circular economy is a path toward fulfillment of the United Nations’ sustainable development goals” – Deputy Minister Pavliashvili stated.
