George Khanishvili participates in the sitting of the Georgia-Ukraine Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. George Khanishvili took part in the tenth session of the Georgian-Ukrainian Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. 
 
In the course of the session, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Ukraine in a range of areas, including trade, economy, energy, transport, communications, information technology and innovation, tourism, agriculture and intellectual property protection fields; They also addressed key areas of cooperation within the European integration.
 
Mrs. Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Mr. Oleg Nemchinov, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Chairman of the Ukrainian side of the Commission underlined the importance of cooperation between the two countries.

"Georgia and Ukraine have chosen to aspire to the Euro-Atlantic space. Both countries recognize all the normative and legal frameworks that are acceptable to Europe under the DCFTA Agreement. We should use the success we have achieved - in the agriculture sector of Georgia, development of technology in Ukraine, which in turn will contribute to boost trade turnover on the one hand, and on the other hand, we should find additional investments and increase production in the country" said Giorgi Khanishvili. 
 
The members of the commission got information about counterfeit labeling of wine and spirits of some Georgian and Ukrainian wine companies.
At the end of the session, the signing ceremony of the protocol of the tenth session of Georgian-Ukrainian joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation took place. The protocol was signed by Mrs. Natia Turnava and Mr. Oleg Nemichov.
